A Lot of Santas…
Our new exhibition opened today! It is a photographic exhibition featuring the amazing work of Walter Waygood. There are two parts to the exhibition: The Merthyr Photographs and Santa Claus: The Photographs, and it’s a very interesting mix of comedy and realism, very intriguing and with a warm and witty feel. It will be open until the end of the year and entry is free so make sure you come along for a look. (And yes, it does feature an awful lot of Santas and they are brilliant).
I’ve been visiting lots of Primary schools recently to talk about our upcoming production of The Ugly Duckling, which is coming to us from Sherman Cymru and Theatr Genedlaethol. I was especially lucky to attend the Celebration Assembly at Greenfield’s School this morning and meet some of their lovely pupils and teachers. I even got the chance to join in with the singing, which was much more fun than a usual morning in the office (in which I do sometimes sing but not as part of such an enthusiastic chorus)
The Ugly Duckling is also open for public bookings, so if your child is not coming as part of a school group they can still come along (and then you get to join them and see the show too!)
You may have noticed, if you’ve been in over the past couple of weeks, that we’ve got a few new members of staff. They are all extremely lovely so let me take this chance to officially say a big blogpost welcome to new FOH Assistants Louise, Helen and Lynette, and new Ops Assistant Gavin.
Don’t forget it’s our Ale and Cider Fair coming up soon on Saturday 18th October. It’s free entry, starts at 12 noon and finishes at 6pm. We’ll have some fantastic artisan producers, high quality breweries and live music. Come and join the fun!BACK TO BLOG
